Terms of Use
Last updated: August 9, 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Stormdrop website, mobile application, and connected weather lamp (collectively, the “Service”), offered by Stormdrop Lamp LLC. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Private-pilot service
Stormdrop is currently a private-pilot product. Features, integrations, availability, and pilot access may change as the Service is tested. The public website does not offer orders, preorders, reservations, or a delivery commitment.
Limited license
Stormdrop grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app and Service with an authorized Stormdrop lamp, subject to these Terms. No ownership interest in Stormdrop software, content, designs, trademarks, or services is transferred to you.
Platform license terms
For an iOS distribution, Apple's Standard EULA applies unless Stormdrop supplies a separately approved custom license agreement in App Store Connect. These Stormdrop Terms supplement, and do not replace, the applicable platform license terms.
Accounts and acceptable use
- Provide accurate account information and protect your sign-in credentials.
- Use only lamps and accounts that you own or are authorized to control.
- Do not bypass security controls, probe for unauthorized access, disrupt the Service, or use it unlawfully.
- Do not use Stormdrop as an emergency, warning, navigation, health, or other safety-critical service.
Real-time weather notice
Stormdrop translates provider-reported weather into ambient light. It is not an official warning service and is not a substitute for local observations, emergency alerts, or instructions from public authorities.
YOUR USE OF THIS REAL TIME WEATHER GUIDANCE APPLICATION OR WEBSITE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. WEATHER DATA MAY NOT BE ACCURATE.
Apple Weather Data may vary from actual conditions due to variable factors, such as signal issues and geopolitical events, that can affect the accuracy of Apple Weather Data.
This notice is required by Apple's Developer Program License Agreement, Attachment 8. The current terms are available from Apple Developer Support.
You must not attempt to derive, reverse engineer, reconstruct, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise discover or extract WeatherKit, Apple Weather Data, or their data structures, services, or APIs, except where applicable law does not permit this restriction.
Device and network responsibilities
You are responsible for a compatible phone, a supported lamp, power, and a suitable network. Portions of provisioning and local control use Bluetooth or local HTTP and are not all end-to-end encrypted. Use the lamp from a trusted local environment and install offered signed updates when appropriate.
Third-party services
The Service depends on third-party platforms and data providers, including Apple WeatherKit, OpenWeather, the National Weather Service, Firebase, Amazon Web Services, and sign-in providers. Their availability and applicable terms may affect parts of the Service. References to a provider do not imply provider or government endorsement of Stormdrop.
Availability and warranty limits
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the pilot Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Stormdrop does not promise uninterrupted availability or that weather, connectivity, colors, notifications, or other output will always be timely, complete, or error-free. Rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.
Privacy and deletion
The Privacy Policy describes Stormdrop's information practices. The public account-deletion resource explains how to initiate a verified deletion request without signing in.
Suspension and changes
Stormdrop may suspend access needed to protect users, lamps, the Service, or third parties, or to respond to unlawful or unauthorized use. We may update these Terms as the Service or legal requirements change. The revised date will be posted here, and additional notice will be provided when required.
